Enabling SSL - Radio buttons don't show up & mod_rewrite error.

Hello Prestashop Community!

 

I have a question regarding a problem with SSL certificate in Prestashop 1.5.4.1.

 

Firstly:

I have enabled the Friendly URL option in my BO but got this error:

URL rewriting (mod_rewrite) is not active on your server, or it is not possible to check your server configuration. If you want to use Friendly URLs, you must activate this mod.

 

After spending couple hours googling for solution, editing the htaccess file, I decided to contact the hosting provider. In response they told me the mod_rewrite is enabled by default, and there must be something wrong with my prestashop configuraton.

Secondly:

I'm trying to enable SSL in preferences. After clicking the "Please click here to use HTTPS protocol before enabling SSL" the http page refreshes and changes to the https version but no radio buttons appear. Can't go to another step....over and over again same message. 

 

Certificate seem to be installed correctly (green lock in address bar).

Is there any chance 2nd issue is affected by 1st somehow?

for future guests I found the solution for 2nd issue. 

I had to add the following code at the beginning of .htaccess file. 
 

RewriteCond %{HTTP:X-Forwarded-Proto} https
RewriteRule (.*) - [E=HTTPS:on]

just before this comment:

 

# ~~start~~ Do not remove this comment, Prestashop will keep automatically the code outside this comment when .htaccess will be generated again

 

 

 

I'm still not sure about the 1st one though.
