Multistore Friendly URL problem different domains v. 1.6.0.6

Recommended Posts

Hi,

After searching an answer for my question for a couple of days I now turn to you.

My problem is this:

I have installed ps 1.6.0.6. I have then added 2 shops with different domains, lets call them shop1 and shop2, so I now have a total number of 3 shops included the default shop that also has a different domain.

When turning on friendly URL the only shop working is my default shop. The other 2 is showing question marks where the pictures is suppose to be and when trying to click on a product or category or anything else PS only sends me to the 404 page.

I have no idea what to do anymore and have tried with all sort of strange things...

Is there anyone who can help me with this I would be so happy.

Best regards

Hi there

I am having a similar problem.

When I set up the store I had the original site running and set up the new shop under a sub directory on my server under [webname]/1904, and it was set as my main url.

Now the new site it ready to go live, but when I try to change the 'physical url' removing '/1904/' from the form, it gives me an error and reverts back to what was previously set. When I go front end and put in the web address, it automatically adds the /1904/ extension to it.

I tried the 'friendly url' reset, but still no joy.

2- after that i enabled the friendly url in my back office who is actulally working find and i got a 500 error page saying the server encountered an internal error... here is the img

3- i also tried to set my htaccess file, adding rewritebase with the direction of my virtual shop and i got a 500 error page saying you have permission to access / on this server...

I call godaddy customer service but no one was able to help me with that.

Please do someone know how to fix this?

TIP: don't post in someone else's topic.  Two of you have done so.

if you start a post with 'I have same issue', most experienced community members will just roll their eyes and move on.

for best community support, always open a 'new' topic, if you want a particular person in the community to help, then pm them with link to forum post.

believe me now, thank me later.

and for these issues, always post how you set up your url to point to main domain.

no, how did you point the dns from your nth domain to the main domain?

you have to set the name servers for the nth domain to your main domain, ns.nhtdomain.com ns2.nthdomain.com (and the IP of the main domain) then on the hosting of the main domain you must,  park = cpanel plesk = alias etc

the issue is hardly ever ps, it's getting to ps most fail at. ps  does not document this portion as it's outside scope off ps can can differ depending on hosting control panel, or lack of. :)

yes, let us know how you get on.  be patient, learn to do yourself....then you can help others...I did a lot of this back in the day when I offered multishop for 1.4...retired from that...

Hi el patron,i resolve my problem.

Thanks for your advices.

The thing was that i had more than one prestashop in my web root directory(web hosting) so the htaccess file was confused when redirecting for one of my shop.

At this time i just had to get a new web hosting for my new shop.

I then conclude that there cannot be more than one prestashop store in a web hosting. Yeah i said it!!

I don't understand your conclusion or if you have resolved.  did you park/cpanel or alias/plesk to point to main domain after setting 2nd domain name servers?   So you are saying? :)

Yes i resolved my problem.

I had two shops in the same root, shopX & shopY.

My shopY (front office) wasn't working (400 error, 500 error, 403 error) because i had more than one prestashop shop in my root directory of my web hosting with goddady.

I tried to park to point to the domain but it didnt work too.

So i figured out that my htaccess whas the issue:

I had a prestashop store in my root directory with this url(www.shopX.com/index.php) and another one in a folder in my root directory(www.shopY.com/Yfolder/shop1/index.php), so there was one htaccess file in the root and another one in the Yfolder.

I guess there was a conflict between them when redirecting for my shopY.

@dashfery..that is great news...glad you got it sorted.  I sold now historically famous 1.4 MultiShop module, while it was popular I always had a bit of a fright when it came to the customer getting the dns set to main domain.  I did it without .htaccess but ps does it differently with 1.5 and up.  anyway happy to hear you have multishop and of course learned so hopefully you can return to the forum and help others with you experience.
