I cannot display block layered in a category why?

I want to display a layered block in the red square that can be possible?

the think is when I create a category like this

 

exemplelayered1:

 

category air conditioning -----------parent directory home

subcategory split systems-----------parent directory air conditioning

and split systems have 6 categories (wall mounted,ceiling,floor mounted,etc)--------parent directory split sytems.

 

its works!!!!

 

but if i do this it's doesnt display the layered block

exemple layered2:

 

category air conditioning-------------------------------------------parent directory home

subcategory  (wall mounted,ceiling,floor mounted,etc)-------parent directory airconditioning

 

any idea?
