Additional Boxes

Hi all,
I've recently started using prestashop and am using a template I found online (darylsboard) and am trying to add a few extra side-boxes that are displayed on all pages. I have looked through all the template files and can't seem to find where I would go about adding these extra boxes.
The primary purpose of an extra box would be so I can list all my categories for easy navigation.

Could anyone please point me in the right direction on how to go about adding these to the template or perhaps an alternative to achieve what I need?
