Regarding file corrections/update/upload

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am new with prestashop and have some issues after editing css or tpl files.

Lets start from beginning.

I have downloaded and installed prestashop 1.5.6.0

After install, I installed new third party theme. Install completed successfully. Changed all image sizes, enabled all necessary modules as explained in Theme installation manual.

Until this everything works fine, but in front page some images do not fit, the footer scattered.

So I decided to do some changes: in global.css corrected footer positions, in homefutureproducts.css corrected images width and that's all.

All corrections was made by downloading files to my computer via FTP, and uploading back to server via FTP. To see my changes on web page I needed to clear smartly cache.

After this corrections the site looks like I wanted, but when pressing on category items or directly on products from server receive

Error 500

(104)Connection reset by peer: FastCGI: comm with server "/usr/local/fastcgi/cgi-bin/php-cgi" aborted: read failed, referer: http://mydomain/index.php?id_product=3&controller=product

This happens not all every time when I click on the link. Maybe every 4 clicks.

Hosting provider said that this error is not a server problem, this is web page problem e.g. bad script or smth.

After this I decided to restore files. I rewrote my modified files with clean files (from installation folder) to server.

This action doesn't help. After this I decided to upgrade Prestashop version to 1.5.6.2

After upgrade all issues resolved.

Question: Do I have to perform any action in back office or on server after file correction/update/upload?

Thanks in advance.
