cschnell
Hi I'm trying to figure out how I assign attributes to a product. Basically I have several products that are available in different colors. So i.e Natural Foundation in 3 colors I would like to be able to have a dropdown menu available on this product page that customers can just select the color they want and then add it to the cart. How do I do that or is this not the functionality of an attribute? If that's not possible what's a work around? Adding in a separate product for each color? Thanks in advance
stottycabanas
Hi again cschnell, you have worked out correctly what a product attribute is, and what you are trying to do is standard functionality in Prestashop. In back office select Catalog/Attributes. Here you can add/change attributes (e.g. colour, size, etc.) and the values for each attribute. You can put colours in either a dropdown or in a 'color picker' (i.e. a number of small squares with each colour in). Then you set up product combinations by going to Catalog/Products and selecting Combinations from the menu on the left. The Product Combinations Generator will help with this. You'll then see the options to select the colour on the product page in your shop. Hope that helps. Cheers, Dave
cschnell
thanks so much that worked perfectly now I only have the problem that even though I only specified the association 'Foundation' the product itself appears on the Makeup page. Any ideas how I can fix that? Either get rid of all the categories on the page and just show the product or only the categories. either or is fine also the compare how do I get rid of the compare option? thanks so much
