kanti
Hi All, Need guidance on configuration for Multistore, if any one can help for following 1) Registered Domain 1 to be the main shop ie a Default / Master Shop which will have all the data Stock, Quantity and Prices, Carriers data etc etc with its own designed Shopfront. 2) Registered Domain 2 to be a Group or Sub Shop whcih will share all the data stock quantity, prices carriers etc etc of Domain 1 Mastershop, and Domain 2 it will have it's own shop front 3) Registered Domain 3 to be a Group or Sub Shop whcih will share all the data stock quantity, prices carriers etc etc of Domain 1 Mastershop, and Domain 3 it will have it's own shop front I only want to input data once into Domain 1 Mastershop Description, Stock Quantity, Price, Carriers etc. etc, and would like Domain 2 and 3 to share the data of domain 1 mastershop. Point to note Domain 1, 2 and 3 are seperately registered domains. The setup should be such that if someone puts in browser domain1.co.uk the opened browser front page will show www.domain1.co.uk/ domain2.co.uk the opened browser front page will show www.domain2.co.uk/ domain3.co.uk the opened browser front page will show www.domain3.co.uk/ Would appreciate a simple guidance of set up in Back Office Admin and Control Panel. El Patron
here is the official guide for MultiStore http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS15/Managing+multiple+shops what type of hosing control panel do you have? Cpanel/Plesk/something else?
kanti
Hi El Patron Thank you for your prompt response, the control panel is control panel interface plesk10 I have read the prestashop article, but not easy to understand. To achieve my objective, in the control panel do i have to park the domains, or direct them ? Thanks Kanti
El Patron
the first think you need to do is set up your url to point to the main installation of ps... on plesk, you use the 'alias' feature. edit your domain and simply add the new domain as an alias to your main domain. as for step by step blow by blow set up. While the doc may seem somewhat confusing it's the best we have. I'd start with a single additional domain, get it working (gain experience) and then move on to the other additional domains
kanti
Opps i made a mistake about the conrtol panel, it is not plesk10, contacted the hosting company and they simply said it is control panel is simply called cPanel
El Patron
for Cpanel, you simply 'park' your additional domains to your main domain
kanti
Hi El Thanks for your prompt response, So Main Domain 1 with the database etc Additional Domain 2 Park to be directed to Domain 1 to access all data Product, Stock Qty, Carriers etc Additional Domain 3 Park to be directed to Domain 1 to access all data Product, Stock Qty, Carriers etc By configuring the above all domains will have its own idenity on front page domain1.co.uk in browser will open as www,domain1.co.uk domain2.co.uk in browser will open as www,domain2.co.uk domain3.co.uk in browser will open as www,domain3.co.uk By parking the domain 2 and 3 the above should be achieved ? El Patron
looks correct...again start with one.. add the new domain to same group as main domain... set the share/don't share for that domain as you see it working in your multishop... test to see if that is how you like it set up.. note: it is pretty easy to delete the 2nd/nth shop and re-add in the back office in case you want to change sharing, i.e. templates etc... Personally I would avoid sharing the template, let it copy your prmie shop template to your 2nd/nth domain....
El Patron
p.s. don't blow it by using multiple .com's gTLD's on the same content. you 'will' be penalized for duplicate content..use instead ccTLD's and only one(1) gTLD. Search outside of PS for more information.

kanti
Hi Xavier, Thank You for participating in the post. Would you be able to clarify 1 point. Can Prestashop 1.5 Multistore configuration allow input of Product, Stock Quantity Price and Carriers into the Main Domain 1 / Master / Default Store, Than Domain 2 and Domain 3 with correct configuration can automatically use the database of Domain 1 for Product, Stock Quantity Price and Carriers. Basically i do not want to input any data 3 times, only want to put it in once in the main domain 1. Would appreciate your clarification if my objective could be achieved. Thanks Kanti
Xavier Borderie
Hi Kanti, If I understand you well, you want to use products, stock quantity and prices from the same catalog on three different domains, right? That is pretty much how PrestaShop's Multistore feature works, so you should be fine Best, -xb.
kanti
Hi All, With some IT help did a multistore configuration however having problems With the configuration which has created following issue? 1) Main domain 1 which is supposed to be Master Shop with all the data product, Quantity, Price to be shared by Domain 2 and Domain 3. Problem when we add a product in all the fields we get a tick box selection to add to domain 2 and 3. HOWEVER when you select quantity field it does not allow you to add quantities. In order to add quantities you have to select each store including master store from drop down menue and go to edit product to add quantities, obviously meaniing the Quantity has to be added 3 times. I have been adviced that it is posible to configure multistore so that we only need to put in quantity once into the Main / Master store domain 1 which can automatically be shared by domain 2 and 3 Obviously if it is possible, than the multistore has been configured incorrectly. Would appreciate any idea where we might have gone wrong. Just to Mention the IT help has configured In the multistore configuration for All Shops Drop Down Menu It Shows Group: Default >Domain 2 >Domain 1 (main master) >domain 3 Following in Advanced Parameters > Multistore 3 Shop groups list Group Default Domain 2 Domain 1 (main master) Domain 3 Group multistore Finally the IT help has mentioned that he has put Domain 2 and 3 as add on domains, when i was told they should be parked and i did mention to him that they should be parked. How critical is it to park them ??? Would appreciate any comments, could be a simple solution. Thanks Kanti
Xavier Borderie
This is all done when you create a store group. If you have not changed the "Share available quantities to sell" option before you even created the three stores, then they will not be able to share their available quantities. However, they should share their products.
