Hi Presta-people,

 

I have a suggestion/request.

 

For much improved clarity for Prestashop users, I am hoping the Prestashop team can improve the disclosure on the Admin side.

 

I believe that whenever we are to upload an image, Prestashop should disclose the output image size and file type, so we do not have to keep guessing, asking others, or writing forum topics

 

Likewise, text fields should disclose the maximum number of characters.

 

for instance, when looking at the SQL directly I found out for manufacturers, the field capacities are as follows:

 

description - unlimited (actually 64k... or 32k... or 28k ... it's debatable -- but virtually unlimited)

short description - 254 characters

meta-title - 128 characters

meta-keywords - 255 characters

meta-description - 255 characters

 

(I wonder, is there a reason the short-description is 254 instead of 255??? Hmmm...)

 

These would be 2 simple improvements that should make all our Presta-lives better.
