[HELP] Weird Problem with Cyrillic characters...Need help fast

Hello,

Im having a strange problem when trying to import CSV files containing cyrillic characters.

When importing a CSV files for categories, everything works fine, categories apear on the site in cyrillic just like they are supposed to. But when trying to import the exact same document but this time as products, the system will only import the lines that contain cyrillic characters under the product's name. All lines that do have cyrillic characters are rejected as such:
Cерія DG Opaque plain (ID 401) cannot be saved
Cерія DG Opaque marbled (ID 402) cannot be saved
Yet all others are uploaded just fine.

What is the problem?
Why is prestashop not accepting cyrillic characters for product names?

I have seen prestashop based web sites that use cyrillic for product names...it must mean im doing something wrong. Can some one please help?
