how to create additional add to cart for a swatch (sample) of the product

Hi,

 

I apologize in advance if this topic has been explained somewhere, but i cant seem to find any answers. Basically I'm trying to setup fabric shop and when i setup the product, i want to give customer the ability to buy a swatch (sample) of the product..

 

So, i want it to be product quantity as well as ability to purchase samples of the product (which would be a separate add to cart button). any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Also, separated but somewhat related question: if anyone knows how to add "per yard" into the price? What i do now is simple add additional text to each product and under the price it simply states per yard. wondering if there is a better way to do this, instead of adding this text to each product?
