Whispar1
I had a problem trying to install a theme and now my default theme is really messed up. I posted about it here but do not have a solution: http://www.prestasho...-theme-trouble/ 1. Is there a way to reset Prestashop to default configuration? 2. Where can I get a clean copy of the default responsive theme that comes with 1.5.3.1? Thanks for any help. El Patron
Would it just be better to start from scratch? Just delete the site and re-install a clean copy of 1.5.3.1. Adding products categories etc. is a lot faster than debugging. also you should always back up your root files and db before doing something new...and well free is what it is...if they put the work into what constitutes a good module/theme....they would charge for it...it's a lot of work Best of luck
Whispar1
Thank you. I am considering exactly what you said - reinstall from scratch. I just wasnt aware that simply installing a theme from this forum (rather than pulling some random theme from the internet) then switching back to default would cause this type of problem. If I paid for a theme would that solve the issue or is it best just to start over?
El Patron
the 'free' theme is not ps compliant, it obviously loaded outside of it's theme folder....stay with the default theme and build your categories and products...it's fun to play with stuff...but back up back up back up...in general and before loading a theme or complex module... paid themes by quality developers are worth every bloody penny....
Whispar1
Very true and I agree. For the benefit of anyone else that may read this post, I am assuming that the only place to get products that are sure to work is through the addons shop? It's unfortunate because I am sure there are great developers that are not tied in with the addons shop but how is one to determine who is reputable and who is not if not through the addons shop? Tighter controls on what is posted in a prestashop sponsored forum? Who knows Its a good thing our static site is still up on another server because this would have been a nightmare had it been live. Thanks again - will remove and reinstall.
