TWO PROBLEMS: md5sum and Memcache PECL

First the upgrade issue from 1.4.5.1 to 1.5.2

 

I tried the ugrade option on under "tools" and this is what I got :

 

Download complete but md5sum does not match. Operation aborted.

 

I need step by step instructions to rectify this, I am using Godaddy unfortunatlely for the FTP.

 

Second, I am trying to enable "Memcached" to optimize the performance and it gives me this warning:

 

To use Memcached, you must install Memcache PECL extension on your server. http://www.php.net/manual/en/memcache.installation.php

 

I need step by step instructions to rectify this as well... i tried to go to the link they had and follow the instructions and it was like reading a language i have no idea about. So any instructions have to be very clearly explained for a novice. Thank you for any help...
