How to Edit Prestashop 1.5.1 Default Template's Header/Top

Please good people of this forum,

I'm very new to prestashop and am woriking on a project to set up a shop for a books/gift items shop. I want to know how I can edit the header/top of Prestashop 1.5.1 default template. What I want to do is:

 

1. Remove the cart, replace it with seach module and place the cart on the right column

 

2. Make the welcome and login align with contact, sitemap, bookmark Currency

 

3. Use a background image for the top alone

 

I know that Prestashop 1.5.1 has just been released and there are Prestagurus who are far better than I am times ten, so i feel so pleased to ask for this favour from any one that know exact step-by-step solution to the above problems.
