currency auto updater: cannot parse feed error

Hi, trying to get the currency updater to auto update but getting cannot parse feed error.

 

I am using Prestashop 1.4.7.3 and have read forums about this happening in older versions.

Someone posted some new code to be used in currency.php.

 

However, the code to be omitted is different to my version and what I have on those lines 217 onwards!

could this also still be an issue with my hosting company not allowing access to the xml?

I am with UK company 1and1 but I dont see any reference to the xml file in my version of code?!

 

I'm wondering whether I can switch the code as suggested in the link?

 

Any other fixes for the version I am running welcomed. Am I the only one having this problem?!

Hi - does no one have any ideas on this please? I cannot update the currency conversions!
