Product addons how to

Hi all I need some help but first I need to say to the admins you need to fix the forums as I have had to start Firefox to use the forums because the forums do not even display in internet explorer and I hate firefox.

 

Ok so now to my questions

 

I am going to be using prestashop for selling themes for things like wordpress etc now what I need to do is add to each item page optional extras or item addons if you like.

 

The optional extra would be installation service at £20.

 

So here is the sinario a customer is viewing a wordpress theme and decides to buy it, he then clicks add to cart, this adds that item to his cart, now I want another option either on the same page or during checkout that says optional extras where he can choose to add an Installation Service to his purchase this would then update the price of the item he has already added to his cart.

 

Is there anyway of doing this?

 

I cant use groups because from what I belive they have to purchase everything in a group thats not what I want I want it as an optional extra, also all of my products are downloadable items and groups will not allow downloadable items.

 

So how can I have it so a customer if they wish to can add Installation Service to their theme they added to their cart?

 

This is somthing that comes as standered in all of the top shopping cart scripts interspire to name just one, and I think that presta shop is badly lacking because I cant figure out how to do this without using groups.

 

I cant use groups because all of my items are downloadable and with groups a customer has to buy everything in the group

I haven't gotten to this point yet (not looking forward to it), but...why not just use the 'group' just make them something like A-1, then A-2 and model it that way via attributes? You may end up using a 'group's particulars again for one of your wps.

 

Look, I'm new to prestashop here as well. But, I see the forum slow on responses...where most people are looking for solutions. Just trying to help.

 

Also, on a side point...yes, the internet explorer issue does stink. I too have to use firefox.

Thanks for the answer but like I say I cant use GROUPS as they do not allow the product to be downloadable.

Think I may scrap presta cart and go back to Interspire shopping cart, you cant realy beet Interspire for features and ease of use but wanted to try and find a close FREE cart and presta almost comes close but without item addons its not good enough

Believe me, when I say, I have my problems with prestashop. BUT, I did try 3 others, and they are the nicest - especially with customers liking the BO. (Sometimes, they are like kids...they just love the colors the BO offers....!

 

I've never tired the one you mentioned, so I will check them out.
