I cannot upload a photo in the home editorial module

Im seriously wondering if I should find another shopping cart to set up my website right now because this is so basic. Can anyone recommend a more simple easier to set up shopping cart? Why cant I upload a photo in the home page editorial module. It gets a message that reads upload successful but the it does not show up instead the original photo of the iphones becomes warped and streched but does not go away.

I tried renaming it to match the originial homepage photo but still no luck....

try go to back office>preferences >force compile -- turn to YES. cache ---to--> NO

 

Then Click on SAVE.

 

After you finish done with your development, switch back to PERFORMANCE --> NO

Cache--=> YES.
