rawnibbles
Hi there, I've got several items that I want to remove the delivery and postage options for as they are only available for collection or local delivery. (They are cakes, they would get really sick in the postal system!) I can't for the life of me figure out how to do this. Do you know if this can be done - and if so, how on earth do I do it?! Cheers guys, Soph
phrasespot
Create a carrier "collection only", zero cost (should be one with default install; Pick up in-store). Put those sticky items in a category of their own. Make the carrier available to that category only. rawnibbles
Thank you for your reply! I've made a collection-only carrier, but I now can't work out how to make a carrier available to a single category. I'm sure it must be obvious, but please could you let me know what I'm missing? Thank you, Soph
phrasespot
Oopps sorry, that is not in default install. I cannot give you the module I am using as it is not publicly available but since I gave you false hope I am going to try to talk you through a work-around. Tell me first about your shipping methods, weight/price ranges you use etc.
rawnibbles
Thank you for coming back to me again. It's a shame that the module you are using isn't publicly available, it sounds ideal! I currently have three shipping methods: Royal Mail First Class - 0g - 750g Royal Mail Parcel - 751g - 20kg. (Allowing for Wholesale orders.) Personal Collection - Covers all weights Royal Mail First Class is my default method. As the collection items are the expensive ones, I was wondering about assigning Personal Collection over a certain price, but then that would throw a spanner in the works for wholesale orders that need delivery. rawnibbles
Could I create a wholesale group and then simply not allow personal collection for them? Then, at the same time, set Personal Collection as the default for expensive items?
rawnibbles
I found a work-around. I have set the item weights to be ridiculously high, and then disabled all other carriers if the weight is out of range.
phrasespot
yes, that is what I was going to suggest too.
trevorgilligan
does delivery address / billing address still come up when you do that?
