Question about installing new theme.

I still have the original prestashop theme. I want to purchase a theme, however, will I have to start all over from scratch? What happens to my categories and products that have already been added?

 

I tried to purchase a template from templatemonster, but they told me I would have to start all over, and it took me weeks to add the categories and few products that I have already.

You do not need to start from the beginning. The only thing you will do is to change your images size according to new template's image size.

 

May be your prestashop version is different than theme's version therefore they told you to start from the beginning. Which version of Prestashop script do you use? Is it same with theme which you want to purchase?
