Referral Module Customization

I'd like to give users the ability to earn referral vouchers without having made a purchase themselves.

 

I don't see this as a configuration option for the module -- is this possible? It seems like fairly basic functionality.

I am looking for that too.

 

From the referralprogram-program.tpl file, it is "if else" case of $canSendInvitations.

Therefore, switching it off should be straightforward.

 

Just wondering:

 

Will there be any implication to the business and system if we allow it?
