Settings needed to enable product comparisons?

Hi,

 

I've been setting up my site and all was well - but after I deleted a few of the original products in the catalog I noticed that the "compare" button disappeared and I can't seem to get it back.

1. What settings/configuration is needed to enable the compare button?
   
2. How can you specify which products can be compared?
   
3. Do comparisons only show the features? What's the best way to manage the information that will appear in the side-by-side table?

Back Office > Preferences > Products > Maximum number of items for comparison: Set to 0 to disable this feature

You cannot. All or nothing.

Yes

 

What's the best way to manage the information that will appear in the side-by-side table?

Provide the same feature fo all products in the same category and make sure each feature is given a value for every item
