How to change Color and "In/Out of stock"

Recommended Posts

I’m developing an online shop on Prestashop and found the following problem:

1. What should I do in order to change the color of the picture when I change the color in drop-down list? Like it was made on Zappos.com http://www.zappos.com/product/7940206/color/13478

2. Is it possible to show “In stock” and “Out of stock” according to the selected combination of size and color of the product? For example, dress of color Papaya and 8th size is in stock, but the same dress od the 2nd size is out od stock. If a customer chooses such a combination I need to show “Out of stock” and not to give a possibility to order it. How should I do it?

Please advise.

hey

i guess you need to use the "combinations" options while creating a new product..

step 1: create new product

step 2: check on the "combinations" menu (guess 4th menu item while creating the new product)

hope this helps

Could you please describe with details how color of the main picture changes when I change the color in drop-down list?

I mean how to set the definite picture of the product to the color characteristic in a drop-down list?

iAlex,

You need to upload a different image for each colour. When you are creating the product and you go to add images, upload all the different coloured products that you require in "images". Then when you are using the "Combinations" tab, just add the product colour, code etc and tick the image you require to show for that combination. Do this for each combination and the correct colour image should show when a user uses the drop down menu. Hope that makes sense, if not ask away :-)

Sorry, I don't know how to show if in stock or not :-(

UPDATE..

I have noticed that if you go to Back Office >Preferences>Products it gives you the option to "Enable Stock Management" & also other options related to stock control. Have a look at this and see if that helps. I know that you can add a message for a product that is in stock and a message for a product that is out of stock when you create each new product as well. Hope this helps a little :-)
