Shutter Men
I am having a problem with google webmaster verifying my site. I entered my UA number under Modules> Google analytics v1.3 but am getting this error when trying to verify at webmaster central: Verification failed. The Google Analytics tracking code on your site is in the wrong location. You can verify site ownership only with the asynchronous snippet placed in the <head> section of your home page. Any help to resolve?

carolynccourtney
I am having the same problem of verification. I have about 30 sites that work well. I realize that Bing is down and have similar problems. Google is the configuration of the same things that bing? You can not add a site to Bing now either. I was able to add a site to Google Sites well, but none of the new check will. Curiously, there is no link to a forum in the area of the Google webmaster tool. They do not want to know about the problems? If anyone has any new information would be appreciated.
Ronaldo Perez
I don't understand your reply. My UA number is correct. You are trying to register webmaster tools with analytics code? This requires a properly working code Google Analytics or use the standard way - adding a special file or meta tag
Shutter Men
Google Verification does not insure that you will be listed in the Google search or help your rank in anyway. It just shows you an overview of how Google sees your site. In order to improve your rankings you need to optomize your keywords, description, and page content! 1. Sign Up for Google Webmaster tools. 2. Add your site and choose the meta validation method. 3. Copy the Google meta verification code into MS Notepad or any text editor. 4. Copy the code below into into the same MS Notepad or text editor. 5. Simply replace the ID in the code with your id from the code from Google. 6. Copy the finished code, and to your home page (default.aspx), open page properties, and paste the code into the keywords text box after any keywords! Make sure the whole code is pasted, since the keyword box has a character limit and if you have to many keywords and some or all of the code might not get pasted in, shouldn't have to worry, if you do, you might want to go over the list of keywords since you really shouldn't have that many. 7. Go back to Google Webmaster tools and verify. Freeplus, Thank you for the explaination. I am aware of Google verification vs analiytics. I guess I should have made it aware in my post that Google asks for the analytics code as their "recommended verification" process. There is an alternate method tab with 3 options: Add a meta-tag; upload an HTML file to server; or add a DNS record to your domain's server. It appears that adding the meta-tag is the suggested way working in Prestashop. I am a little confused on your recommendation. Step 4: was there some code you were going to post? Step 6: Could you give some clarity on how I do this step? Am I doing it in the BO, or do i work on a file and upload it in one of the folders. Thanks for your help on this.
