Thank you well you can still use the in preparation but just disable that the customer receives an email upon setting that status. of course there may be still the very slight possibility that a customer logs on to his account and sees the new status there but I personally never did this with any of my online purchases and I doubt that your customers will do that, usually everyone is relying on the emails sent by the shop.
