tk062
Hi, I have problems trying to uploading products from csv into my prestashop 1.4. I can upload the categories list fine but when I imported the csv file the product details show up out of the order (price becomes O, names got shorten or sth else appears, and they don't link to the categories). I tried follow the instruction closely from this thread but have no success. I've attached a few screen short here. When I entered the product manually through the BO, they appear just fine. But because I have 300 products so I want to bulk upload to save time. Initially I hired someone from freelancer to help me do the import but he couldn't do it and said something's wrong with my prestashop database particularly re-indexing (and that he doesn't prefer working with prestashop so I have no idea why he accepted my job in the first place). Any advices is greatly appreciate. I should have posted this in the main thread. I apologize. If the moderator could move it I'd be really appreciate. Thank you. phrasespot
Please post the CSV file you are using, or if that is not possible a couple of sample rows from it, also post the full version number of your installation (at the bottom of every back office page). phrasespot
I was going to try the import process to find out where it is failing, that is not possible with a screen capture. upload it to online online file server and post a link here if you are not able to attach to a post. tk062
phrasespot I really appreciate this. I apologize for my delay response because I'm on the road and have limited access to the internet. I've put the files in the the dropbox. One is the category (which I was able to upload fine) and one for the products. The link to the dropbox folder is http://db.tt/BDinhEb0
phrasespot
No worries. A couple of things you can try to improve the import process. Use different field and value separators, you use commas for both. Leave out the blank fields and include only columns that will be populated. Though I would not put my hopes up too much. Using fresh install of version 1.4.5.1 and the samples provided under import tab I am unable to import 3 categories and 2 products, on a light or a full install (can anyone?). I suspect, there is something fundamentally wrong with the import functionality.
