kremik
Hello, I'm going crazy about the import of products. I created categories of my e-shop first with my custom category IDs (20, 21, ...). They are all subcategories of the Home (ID=1) category. Now I have a CSV with products where each product is assigned to one category only. I tried to fill the category filed in product's CSV with category_id, category name, category URL, .... But when I import my products then all are assigned to category Home (ID=1). The rest of my CSV fields are correctly imported, but I'm not able to put these products into the categories within this import. Can you give me some advice or maybe share your CSV with categories used? Thanks, Kremik presta-products-import-test.csv.zip
Optim'Informatique
Hello, To import your products in the good categories, you can fill your csv with all categories IDs, separated with a comma ( put the default category first ). You'll have for example 23, 3, 5 if the product is in 3 categories and 23 is the ID of default category for this product.

kremik
Optim'Informatique: It would be good enough to be able to place the product into one category only (but into the right one). Btw. what is a default category? Where is it possible to set or change? berka.pavel: Thanks, the shop is somehow online -- what kind of access would be useful for you? Optim'Informatique
Sorry I didn't follow the topic. Did you finally solve your problem ? You can set the default category in your back office, in catalog tab, for each product. You can also set it in your csv file ( there is a column categories in the import ). ThomasVG
Hi, I'm trying this for over 2 days now, without success. The only thing I am trying to do is to upload my products in the existing (sub)categories! I have created 4 major categories, under the default "Home"-category and under those subcategories I have created some other sub-categories. When I upload the product CSV all products are listed under the "Home"-category instead of the categoryID I put in the CSV. Any suggestions? Thanks. Zoltán Oláh
Or this could be a better solution, with precise refinement: Create a category tree in catalog tab, then, when importing, import all of the products to a temporary category. Use Prestashop mass categorize products module (link below) to move the products to their target categories. You can also set default category for each item at once. Check module at: http://www.progikon.hu/prestashop_masscategorizer.html
