Product page - displaying single attributes

Hi,

 

Can someone please give me a little guidance with my product.tpl. I'm selling clothes in my store, but the majority of the products only ever have 1 size attribute option available. There may be the possibility for some to have multiple size attributes. So is there a change that I can make to my tpl that can first check how many size attributes are in stock. If 1, then display that option as normal text and if more than 1, to display in a drop down list?
