marcopetra
Hello everyone, I downloaded and installed Prestashop but a couple of days I'm going crazy to set it up:the problem is that during setup, the third step, after asking me the details of the database (and confirmed he had found, so far so ok) me the following error message "Can't create settings file, if /config/settings.inc.php exists, please give the public write permissions to this file, else please create a file named settings.inc.php in config directory " I donot continue. I saw that other users has set the same problem, but I found no solutions. The only question that came to me (since there isn't that file in the folder indicated setting.inc.php) is that despite having set the folder permission of 777 the setup program fails to create the file and then proceed with the installation. I also tried to manually create the file (with dreamweaver) and insert it into the folder viaFTP, but in this case does not proceed with the next step (in fact it crashed at all). Specifically I use a hosting aruba (maybe can help you find the solution). What can I do? Thanks Marco

oxyweb
Hi marco, Did you set settings.inc.php file to 644 ( or 777 temporarily)
marcopetra
Originally the file in the folder is not present; i've tried to put in the folder via FTP a file that another PrestaShop user gave me without parameters in the string, with 777 permission...but in this case it doesn't work. The configuration crash and not proceed...
