orders with product not in stock

Recommended Posts

Hi,

let's say I have one order with product A and product B.

They were both in stock at the time of the order.

I have now to ship it.

actually, B is not in stock anymore.

So I do an order to my supplier fro B, but my customer can't wait.

So I ship the order with A only. and I will ship B later on.

It looks like PS does not allow to flag the item that you ship to your customer.

So the customer will receive an email without information about what has has been really shipped, and will complain when he will receive the order with only A.

What is the process?

Do I really have to manually send an email to the customer with this information?

How do I follow this order? I mean how to be sure that I will not forget to ship again? because the order has the status="shipped".

Should I manually set the order to "waiting stock" afterward??

How do I remember that I will have to ship B only, and not A again??

Do I really have to add a comment like "B is not shipped yet", so I know in the future??

I would expect the following from PS:

1) you have a checkbox beside each product. You check which products you can ship (or better by default everything is checked, so I uncheck what I can't ship, whatever the reason, not in stock or ...)

2) you change the status to "ship" or whatever so the client is notified about the order that has been shipped, and which products has been shipped

3) the status of the order is now automatically set to "waiting stock" or something like that, so I know I have to do something with this order. And I know what has to be shipped again (the one not checked)

Is there any module for that purpose?

thanks

Rod
