cmsBlock Can't reset it can't add it to a block

Hi

 

I have upgraded my site to 1.4.4 and have nearly ironed out all the issues, last one:

 

The blockCMS does not want to work. I can't get it to display the links in the right column. I think this a permissions issue, because by resetting it and then adding the block to the rhs it worked on my dev machine.

 

On the live site, to avoid errors on reseting / diabling / enabling, i have set permissions to the blockCMS folder and contents to 755

 

Then clicking configure and then "add a new block cms" and adding a new cms block with location right selected and i get the message " Block CMS succesfully added"

 

but no blocks apear in the cms block configuration page and the links don't show in the right column

 

Looking at my database: there is a record in ps_cms_block with id_block_cms: 1 id_cms_category: 1 location:1 position: 1 display_store:0

 

which are the same values as my local db which is showing the block

 

What can be going wrong with this module? how can i get the links to display again?

oh, ps: i don't have any recent entries in my php error log. Does prestashop have its own log files somewhere i can see any errors?
