My Views on Prestashop + thank you to the developers

Recommended Posts

I truly enjoyed completing my first Prestashop product. I have experience with all of the common (and some less common) open source shopping carts. The experience of installing, configuring, and working with Prestashop was a joy. There are a few things to learn, but with any new software, you have to invest time to understand how it works to get the most out of it, and make it do what you want.

Here is what I like the most about Prestashop:
* easy to install
* default front end looks very clean
* easy to modify
* shoppers like the ajax cart functions
* back office has a nice happy look
* layout and module system makes sense

I can really see this software becoming the next big thing, and I hope it does. There are a few important issues that would make a big difference to a lot of people deciding to use it or not. The ones that matter the most to me are:
* FedEx shipping integration
* more info on credit card payment gateways besides PayPal
* faster editing of products without as many page loads, or the ability to edit multiple products at one time in a grid
* tax listed separately from product price in cart and on item and in order overview
* Wholesale user class

Thanks to those who developed this fun to use product :)
