andreand
Hi Prestashop mates!first of all thanks for sharing your opinions and experience.I should create an online catalog, without prices, not shop. I'm wondering about which cms is the best for this aim.I'm used to Wordpress. I feel confortable working with it. However, I've never created a product catalog.Few days ago I assisted to a Prestashop seminar, and it seems that the last version lets make an online catalog, without prices. So, I installed it and I've just testing it. However I don't find some "must" options, like creating subsections (ie. clothing > trousers > shorts), adding patterns (dots, flowers, etc.), ...Even, unlike Wordpress, Prestashop sells all the extras. So, you should be certain of what do you want and you must trust on which plugin/widget are you paying for. As a beginner, the payment is a wall for me! So, I'm in two minds. I know I'll feel more confortable creating the catalog on Wordpress. What is your experience? Which cms would you recommend to me? I'm thinking about studying a little more Prestashop, but creating this project with Wordpress ...Thanks a lot!
diana13
You can create subsections from BO -> Catalog -> Add a new subcategory. Then click on the category you just created, and you can create another subcategory.About patterns, you can create attributes from BO -> Catalog -> Attributes and groups. You should browse and test prestashop back office more, you will find a lot of options. diana13
In BO, in the product page, under Images, you can load how many images you want, then, under tab Combination, you can choose what image with what pattern to combine.
andreand
Ops! I've just tried it! However, it's not what I'd like to do. I think I didn't make understand myself ...I mean, what I'd like to do is having patterns, like colours option. I mean, instead of having colours to choose I'd like to have mini images (patterns) to choose. Is it possible?
diana13
I just think, but I didn't try: if you make a group Texture and you make it as a color group, then, when you add attributes, you can upload from your computer what texture you want. After that, in product page, you have an option: Color picker. So just try this, and let us know if it works. I'm to lazy to test this myself
