Help with Web Services

Hi guys, maybe is just ecause is late but... anyway... I'm trying to use Web Services on my PrestaShop website 1.4.1.
Actually I'm followinf the very first step found here:

I generated the htaccess and I create a passkey but the website is still asking for some authenticatio...

Now my doubt is about this message I see on the Tools/Webservices tab:

"We can't check if base authetication and writing extension are activated. Please check if they are active.. bla bla bla..."

Now.. what is this? Where can I check? What they are speaking abot?

First of all, upgared to 1.4.3, it's out now.
