Order status email preview does not show custom templates

I am using custom email templates for order status emails.
When I use the email preview from the Back Office, my custom templates are not shown.
The preview seems to use default content instead.
I cleared the cache and checked the template locations, but the preview did not change.
Is this expected behavior, or is there a way to make the preview use custom templates?

Hi, PS9 email preview uses the Twig email theme system, not only /mails/<lang>/*.html. That’s why footer.twig changes apply but the body looks “generic”.

Fix:

• BO → Design → Email theme → select your theme → Generate
• Edit the actual Twig templates in /mails/themes/classic/
• Clear cache

Also, the preview relying on /mails/themes/classic is basically the fallback in PS9, so don’t remove/rename that folder.

Thanks for the explanation, that clears it up. I didn’t realize the preview was limited to the classic fallback and not the active theme templates. I’ll focus on testing by sending actual emails instead of relying on the preview. Good to know this is expected behavior and not a cache issue.
