MAYCON HENRIQUE Posted yesterday at 04:45 PM Share Posted yesterday at 04:45 PM Hi everyone! I'm migrating from another e-commerce platform to PrestaShop and I'm having a problem. My store has controlled access, and a customer can only buy after their registration is approved. Customer registration is done internally by us. I haven't found in the PrestaShop back office how to restrict registration, that is, how to disable the automatic creation of user accounts at checkout. As a rule, I can't allow just any user to register on the site, and the checkout should only display a login screen for customers registered by us. Does anyone know how to do this, or know of any registration restriction module?
endriu107
If you only want to block registration so that customers can't make purchases but still be able to browse the store, you can create a new customer group called "accepted." For other groups, you disable shopping in the settings, and accepting registration is by assigns the customer to the new group.
MAYCON HENRIQUE
I couldn't find how to create customer groups in my back office, and I also couldn't find how to disable checkout for new users or visitors. Do you have a step-by-step guide for PrestaShop 9?
endriu107
Go to Configure > Shop parameter > Customer Settings > Groups, there you can add new group and edit other groups. In group setting you can hide prices for choosen group or disable any modules like "Shopping cart" that allows customer to buy products. Prestashop in backoffice have search bar at the top so if you type "groups" there will be only one result, this is fast and easy way to find any settings you need.
