Add WhatsApp Order Confirmation Integration for Frubs Store

Hi PrestaShop Community,

I’m team lead at Frubs, an eCommerce store selling medical scrubs, and we’d like to suggest a feature that could really benefit us and many other merchants:

Feature Request: Order Confirmation via WhatsApp

What we want:

Automatically send order confirmation messages through WhatsApp when a customer places an order.

Message should include order number, summary of items, total cost, estimated delivery time, and a link to track the order.

Why this is useful for Frubs (and similar stores):

WhatsApp has very high open & read rates — better chance customers see confirmations quickly.

Many customers in Pakistan (and globally) prefer WhatsApp for communication over email or SMS.

Helps reduce confusion, duplicate orders or missed confirmations.

Improves trust: customers feel more secure when they get personal messaging from the store.

Proposed Implementation Ideas:

Add a module / plugin compatible with PrestaShop that uses WhatsApp Business API.

Allow merchants to customize message templates (branding, tone, what fields included).

Option to toggle WhatsApp confirmations on or off per order status (e.g., only send when status = “Payment Confirmed”).

Log sent messages, so merchant has record if customer says “I didn’t get it”.

Have you used a PrestaShop module for WhatsApp order confirmations?

What challenges did you encounter (cost, setup, deliverability)?

Would any existing PrestaShop add-ons work, or is a bespoke solution needed?
