flowers_ph
What are people's thoughts on this. i just did a search on gpt and our 2 main competitors who use Shopify have their products shown. Is there some kind of Agentic Commerce Protocol coming for PrestaShop or is this the end? Edited October 1 by bnadauld (see edit history)
Olivier CLEMENCE
Hello, I think we’ll soon see PrestaShop modules that will allow sending the product feed to ChatGPT and also enable purchases directly within ChatGPT. I can’t develop it myself for now because I don’t have a store in the US, and ChatGPT currently restricts these features to US merchants only. Is there some kind of Agentic Commerce Protocol coming for PrestaShop or is this the end? Shopify is an early adopter here, and while I haven’t seen a formal roadmap for PrestaShop and the Agentic Commerce Protocol, that doesn’t necessarily mean one isn’t coming. Shopify does have some limitations compared to PrestaShop (for example, filtering and subcategories), but those can be worked around. Otherwise, it starts to feel almost silly not to migrate to Shopify—especially when you imagine having true express checkout right at the product page, view cart, and checkout, all in just a few clicks. On PrestaShop, we often end up cobbling together three different modules and making sure they’re all placed in exactly the right spots just to achieve something similar. 6 hours ago, Olivier CLEMENCE said: Hello, I think we’ll soon see PrestaShop modules that will allow sending the product feed to ChatGPT and also enable purchases directly within ChatGPT. That restriction makes sense, though it’s funny in a way—addons also don’t currently allow non-EU businesses (like me, being in the US) to sell on Addons. Looool.
