PRE ORDER for Virtual products

Hello everyone,

I’d greatly appreciate your help with an issue that feels more
complicated than it should be.

I run a website selling virtual products, and here’s what I need:

1.  Allow customers to preorder certain virtual items
2.  Accept payment at the time of preorder
3.  Automatically send the download link on a specific release date

I’m open to using a paid module or plugin—as long as it supports all
these features.

1. Install Webkul Preorder (or FME Advanced Pre-Order) and mark the item as Pre-order, with the public release date shown on the product page. Webkul Software+1
2. Create the product as a Virtual product and prepare the file, but don’t expose the link yet. PrestaShop Help Center
3. You will need a custom module using a cron that at the scheduled datetime:

• links the downloadable file to qualifying orders,
• sets the order state (if needed) so downloads are visible,
• sends the download email to each buyer.
