American customers see data collection as a fair trade for relevant ads — they don’t expect to “accept” cookies before buying. In this post, we explain U.S. vs. EU rules, what counts as non-essential cookies, and why showing banners to American visitors can hurt conversions. Stop annoying U.S. shoppers — give them the milk with their cookies, not an extra popup.
