I ship to multiple states in the US.  When customer is checking out it does not apply sales that for the ship to state.

i created rule for "United States" the wanted to add each state to that rule.  i currently have have "All Selected: but in the Tax box I cannot select multiple tax rates.  do i have to physically enter each one?

This is a common point of confusion in PrestaShop’s tax configuration for US shops.

When you create a tax rule for the "United States" in PrestaShop, you need to define individual tax rates for each state separately—PrestaShop does not allow you to select multiple tax rates at once and apply them in bulk to all states.

How it works:

  • Each US state with sales tax must have its own entry in the Tax Rules group, linked to the correct tax rate.
  • "All Selected" only applies the rule to all states, but you can only choose one tax rate per rule/line.
  • If you want to assign different tax rates for different states, you need to add a new line for each state, and select the corresponding rate.
  • If you don’t add individual lines per state, PrestaShop will only apply the tax rule you’ve set (which is probably 0% if not defined for that state).

Short answer:
Yes, you need to manually add each state to the tax rule group, assigning the correct tax rate for each. There isn’t a shortcut for bulk-assigning different tax rates to multiple states at once.

Tip:
If you have all the tax rates already set up under International > Taxes, you can quickly add each state under your tax rules group by clicking “Add new tax rule” and selecting the state + tax rate.
