Managing Categories - how to have a product showing in more than one category

Hello - please can someone give me a little guidance?

I have several products that will appear in two or more categories.  I select the default category and also the associated categories but the products only appear in the default category.

Is there some magic button somewhere that I'm not pushing?  Prestashop 8.1.4.

Thanks.

Thanks for replying.  It's not a live site - it's currently on a sub domain.  Is there anything I can screenshot for you that may help you see what the problem is?

Hello

Thanks for replying - please find attached a couple of screenshots.  One is of a product that should appear in two categories but doesn't.  One show's the category tree.  And the third one shows a shop page where I have products in sub-categories but it also still shows the "box" "no products at the moment" because I have unchecked the box in the settings so as not to show produced in the main categories.  A screenshot of this is also attached, just in case my settings aren't right.

Hello,

After reviewing your issue, this problem usually occurs when the "Show products only from default category" option in the Faceted Search module is enabled. You can refer to the screenshot here: https://prnt.sc/NPaJpt6hCWL3

To resolve this, please first disable this option. Then, enable the "Show products from subcategories" option, as shown in this screenshot: https://prnt.sc/9IMlzqvvJdf9

Thanks,

Thanks for replying.  Sorry - that was the one screenshot I forgot to include.  Noted for the settings - but therein lies the problem - if I do the settings as you say then I get all the products showing in the main category as well as in the sub categories which is so annoying and really disorganised-looking.  Attached is a screenshot of the problem if I do the settings as you suggest.  do you know a way of turning off the displaying of all products from the sub categories in the main category as well?

Another thought is that I have to duplicate all the products I wish to appear in more than one category but that means more work when I need to update the product - I have to do it more than one place.  Any thoughts?

If you want to "turn off the displaying of all products from the sub categories" then you need to disable the "Show products from subcategories" option.

@Webkul SolutionsThanks for your reply.  It doesn't work, a shortcoming of Prestashop.

Sometimes you might not have subcategories and therefore you want your products to go directly into categories.  The Faceted Search module does not take account of this.  Therefore the only workaround I can see (unless you can tell me otherwise) is to create "ghost" subcategories.  Otherwise, all products are in both categories and subcategories and it's a real mess.
