external link to digital product

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody. I would like to know if there is a way for me to add an external download link to a digital product. Or if this is something that has been mentioned for an implementation. I left Wordpress, I'm enjoying PrestaShop, but it made me discouraged. Thank you for your attention.

I did some searching but could not find existing module that allowed for this feature.  I know that is not helpful answer but this could be developed, I recommend post in job section to get some quotes to create this feature.  Maybe someone else will know of off the shelf module that exists.  Good luck!

You want a paid digital product or free (public link)?

Paid product. When the purchase is made, release the digital product link. Currently I already have a server where I host the files that I will make available for download.

This is not secured if someone get the link 😞

The point is to release the download only after purchase. Having the file hosted on the same prestashop server does not prevent the file from being shared. I just want the download to be released after completing the purchase.

Hello, why don't you just use virtual products feature ?

Due to the nature of the files, even when zipped, they have an average size of 200mb. I have more than 5 thousand files already on a file server of mine. So this would have to have at least 2tb of storage on the PrestaShop hosting server. It doesn't make sense, especially since I already have the server where everything is hosted.
