Editing CSS files in Prestashop 8.2

Hi, hope someone can help.

I would like to edit the theme.css file (/themes/classic/assets/css) in Prestashop 8.2, however it is showing as all in one line in Notepad++.

Installing (in Notepad++) the plugin 'JS tools' and clicking on 'JSformat' shows the file properly, with line numbers.

However using 'Inspect' in a browser shows everything as in one line so finding which line to edit in Notepad++ is not obvious.

Any ideas?

You should create next to theme.css file new file with name custom.css and all CSS changes add to this file.

Thanks for your reply.

I've created the custom.css file in the same folder and given it the correct permissions and pasted in the code from theme.css.

Should i delete the the theme.css file? If I inspect around the page it seems to be a combination of both theme.css and custom.css.
