How to show subcategories (not products) when clickin in a category

Hi,

I'm using prestashop 1.7 with a custom theme buyed on the market, (Handmade) there's a way to show subcategories when i click on some categories? At the moment it show only the products inside the category and not the subcategories like the previous version of prestashop.

Can someone help me please? Thanks

You can copy the logic from classic theme and insert into your (child) theme - file themes/classic/templates/catalog/_partials/subcategories.tpl

Hi everyone

I use Prestashop 8.2 with the Bentrix Theme from Hiddentechies.

I have been able to get the Subcategory Thumbnails to show in the Category Page. Still, the Subcategory Thumbnails are too small and I have not been able to find a way to get the Subcategory thumbnails to display bigger.

I do not know how to create a child theme.

I have tried a CSS Module, but did not make any difference.

Can someone please help

Go to admin -> Design -> Image Settings & change the image size of the "category_default".

 

 

If you don't have such "category_default" then share the site URL so that I can guide you which thumbaili is being used on the category page.

I have thought about changing the Category Image settings, but then it changes the way the Category image will behave.

Yes, these are the category_default thumbnails.

For example:

Change the category_thumbnail size according to need.

I have changed the Category default, it does not seem to make a difference.

I have regenerated the Images and cleared the cache.

What is the actual size of the image? It seems the width/height issue of the images is not correct.

 

Can you please upload the image (in any of the categories to trail) in the same ratio i.e. 300x300

I uploaded a test image 300 x 300 px, and it works for the subcategory, but the category image is bad.

Use the different image in the category banner & thumbnail section.

 

 

"Cover image" is the category image that you are referring as bad (Using the same image that you were using before)

Thumbnail image for the subcategory (use 300x300 here)

It does not make a difference when I upload a 300 x 300 image for the Subcategory Thumbnail.
The way it looks now, I will be able to work with. The Category Thumbnail looks fine like this on the front end
