If you have issues with large product combinations and get 'Unable to update settings message'

This has been a major issue for me an my products.  A lot of my products have a large number of combinations so it's impossible to create them.  I get the dreaded 'Unable to update settings' message.  And then I am not able to edit the product at all as it just crashes.

Sometimes the message can appear anywhere throughout the product setup process without no reason.  It's frustrating.

So for me the issue is now solved and although this might not be ideal for everyone it works for me so far and have not come across any issues.  I can create unlimited combinations and I have not seen the 'Unable to update settings' no more.

So I switched this on.  So far I can create unlimited combinations and never see the dreaded message.  I will leave it on and see what happens.  The actual product combinations seems easier to work with and creating them is quicker.  You can also sort through combinations to add prices etc.

Works for me at least.
