Not necessarily, php7.4 is more dangerous to run, than php8.4, according to Wordpress core messages.
If you have a site online it can be hacked, the grade of skills needed make a difference.
Hacking is done over phishing, over the very same hoster who rents some hosting to you (own experience)
Over modules, over modules developers gone bad.
There are ways to minimice hacking impacts, but not if you are the person who likes to do it all by yourself.
Or who believes that you could deal with the issue once it happens.
