In transit email is not sent to customer

Hi, I added the "in transit" status, I am sure it is configured to Pickup the in_transit email template, and to send email when order status changes to this state. However it does not send any email. I do not know what is missed. I am using prestashop ver. 1.4, All other status email are sent correctly

PD There is a bug report PSCFI-5 posted by Zenith. it seems to be a similar problem. However the bug was closed as solved.

According to the bug description "The in_transit e-mail is not being sent when a shipping number is entered. Tested a couple of times without any success." is exactly what happens to me, I did not know it should have sent the in_transit email when you added the Tracking number so that is why I added the new order status "in_transit" thinking it was the right way to advice customer about the tracking number. But as I am reporting this approach does not work neither.

Problem was half solved. The problem showed up when I changed some configuration variables after the test customer was added, other problem was the test customer kept the same tax configuration even thought I changed it (no cache enable).
When I added a new test customer the transit email worked as expected (when you add the tracking number). So I think the software needs more debbuging in situations when you change configuration parameters and you already have customer added. (Prestashop ver. 1.4) But anyway...the software is just great. Thanks to developers.
