Stats and visits completely gaga

We went into production with my first Prestashop B2B site on 20-5-2020.  PS 1.7.6.4

To check what is happening we wanted to see some statistics but results are completely random.

Most customers that logged in show on the customers page: Last visit: Never
A test customer with 25 orders in the past: "Never".  Logged in, logged out 5 times -> still 'Never'

Some visits from customers are logged though.  I cannot find any logic.

Secondly, we have 23815 unique visitors :-)  If this would be 238, I would be very very very happy because that is 100% of our customers database.
The first day we warned 5 good customers to give it a try: 3000 visitors !

Customers on line in last 30 minutes: 50.  In detail only 2 IP addresses and 1 of them is mine as admin.

So statistics are all over te place but not usable.

Good to know: people cannot register.  We create accounts and they can ask a new password at login.
We don't generate an invoice.

Also, most customers are imported from 1.7.5.0

I didn't activate Data mining for statistics.  Should I ?

Should I reset something?  De-install and install again?

Customers log in and order but last visit remains 'never'.
