Using google checkout with prestashop hosted with godaddy

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have moved my store to godaddy as google checkout asked for a https API URL and prestashop shows a http API URL and countless searches informed me I needed an SSL cert which I now have but I'm no closer.

Can anyone help?

I have prestashop 1.5.2 and some threads say it's not stable but the download page lists it as a final release.

The only option I can see at the moment is to delete prestashop and change to another solution.

Many thanks in advance.

Mark

Hi All,

I have enabled ssl in prestashop and it's not given me a https API URL.

I have added the API URL into googke checkout and added the merchant username and password to the google checkout module in prestashop and I can access my store with an https URL.

I get the google checkout link in my shopping cart but when I click it I get a http 500 internal server error and the URL on the error page is slightly different to the API URL

API URL is ... https://www.mandajewellery.co.uk/modules/gcheckout/validation.php

HTTP 500 Internal server error URL... https://www.mandajewellery.co.uk/modules/gcheckout/payment.php

Ha Ha Quality!

On the download it says it's a final release and I'm assuming it worked on older versions.

Am I assuming right I would have to fully install an older version or can I downgrade?

Kind Regards,

Mark

I would like to know this as well. Really a lot of deal-breaking, business-halting bugs in 1.5.2. I would have never installed it had it not been labeled 'Stable Release'

Join the club :(

Actually apart from Google Checkout everything seems to be working (all be it with *some* bugs with PayPal now and then).

The whole upgrade process took around 8 days what with altering the default theme to match my 1.4.9 store and tinkering with the modules.

Many thanks Steve_c I'll try installing that until they fix gcheckout in 1.5.2

I know it's free but they are offering it free in hope people say 'it's too time consuming I'll get them to create my store' and no doubt charge.

So I think they need to fix this asap.

Would be nice for major issues like this to be pinned at the top level of the forum saying they are working on this and daily updates as I'm just starting out I didn't have a very big store but I imagine this could ruin some small businesses!

Nothing's truly free. I'm sure money is being made from the partnership plug-ins and such. They should really release hotfixes for the major bugs instead of people having to manually fix code snippets........not everyone is comfortable doing this. I'm from a tech background (hardware and software although I haven't done much web development) and I can't imagine someone trying to do this who doesn't have a technical background. This has severely impacted my business as it's brand new. I would be out of business had it not been for my technical background.
