"Update It" Button Not Working

I have a fresh install of Prestashop 1.6.0.8

 

In the MODULES section, it shows 65 modules installed, 2 disabled and 29 modules to update.

 

Clicking on the UPDATE IT button on any of the modules requiring an update returns the message:

 

"The following module(s) were upgraded successfully:

• [module name] :
      Current version: [module version]"

 

However, the module still shows as requiring an update and the UPDATE IT button still displays...

 

Can anyone explain either what I'm doing wrong or what the problem is?
