Introducing PrestaShop v.1.6 New Dashboard

As we’re all anxiously awaiting the release of PrestaShop v.1.6, our team wants you to know exactly what we’re working on. Today, I’ll share what you can expect from the upcoming new back-office dashboard. We took our time sitting with real PrestaShop Merchants to design and develop the perfect back-office. Managing your inventory and sales will be better than ever with advanced data technology coupled with a brilliant design.

Refreshing New Design

We have redesigned the back-office completely and paid extra close attention to the dashboard. The new back-office is now fully responsive and accessible from any mobile device, tablet, laptop and computer! Important data is clearly displayed and we have rearranged the design to make it easy understand your store’s current status and future forecast.

Greater Insights

The new version was created alongside merchants and developers to make sure you have all the important KPI’s. We’ve added new metrics including a completely unique feature, only available for PrestaShop users, “Net Margin” data display which updates your profit margin in real time! You can easily find activity overview, conversion rate, forecast, key traffic and new customer statistics.

Real-time data

As an online merchant, you should know what’s happening with your online shop 24/7. With our improved information streaming technology, merchants can access real-time data including online visitors, active shopping carts and notifications to make sure you always know what’s going on. You’ll have all the information you need to instantly turn first time visitors to loyal customers.

Improved Ergonomics

This new version offers the most efficient back-office experience seen in e-commerce with a super user friendly experience. It’s easy to navigate and all your online shop’s data is straightforward and simple to access. Remember, it was built alongside our merchants’ feedback. Every button placement and function serves to aid our merchants’ user experience so no time is wasted.

Yes I’m anxiously for the release and also worried about this version not be 100% functional!
the back office of the alpha version is looking great, but the front office is horrible, the buttons and the pictures are enormous!

There is something I want to be included. Subscription of services via Prestashop. For example – selling a 1 month cable service product via the shop. There it shall show the customer the service subscriptions the person has and the subscription shall automatically expire after 1 month time limit that we had set.

So subscription service as a seperate product category is missing from Prestashop right now, I will like to see this in 1.6

    Hi,

why Prestashop doesn’t still consider products volume too for shipments rates ?

All the most important express couriers use the real weight and the volume/weight rapport together to define his rates !

It would be a great update for PS 1.6, an essential function for us merchants

Thanks for all your efforts, you’re great !

    A great design.Good job!
BTW,could prestashop have a “one click button(reset)” optimize database to remove wasted space from deleted records, please? When a site run a long time,it is have many records in the database if you decide to use prestashop’s own statistic analysis tools.
Thanks prestashop team and hope ps grown fast and strong.

The modules of version 1.5 will be compatible?

    The themes?

  6. Oh wow! Great guys! Looks like we’re finally getting some basic net profit reports! About time! I hope some more attention has also been paid to product combinations and product packs.

It’s great to hear you’re working along side Merchants, as it’s obvious from 1.5 that the developers have never run an online shop, simple things like the ability to email a customer who has yet to place an order are missing from 1.5, which is simply unforgivable in a modern ecommerce system.
I look forward to trying 1.6 and hope the development is going well.

Another great feature that is missing is – positioning of Products and Product categories. While there is positioning of Carriers under Shipping – this feature is lacking in Products and Product categories and much needed to make it easier for template designers to know which product should be displayed in which position related to the other products. Right now – all that template designers have is Product IDs and here the user has no control over product positioning.

  9. I totally agree with sagaryadav. It was one of the first big drawbacks I noticed with PrestaShop– the inability to rearrange the positioning & order of products and product categories.

Also, I have ‘Brands’ not Manufacturers, but I see no way to change this wording, or rearrange the order in which the Featured Products are displayed. For example, I may want Pentaxyl to be displayed first, followed by a Fixx product, etc.

I’m with tdelios here. Anxiously keen for a release date. This looks awesome. Finally prestashop is starting to go into the direction of looking like it can compete with the lovely front and backend designs of other solutions out there.
